Obviously I want to continue working. No doubt about it and want to continue doing what we’re able to for Taphouse. I marked “5” on the am I concerned about getting customers sick, because I am, but also feel that we take the necessary precaution and if a customer gets sick, it is most likely other employees will have already gotten sick. I would like to continue working as long and much as is available for not only myself, but to try to continue making Taphouse the best it can be in this time. ??

Is volunteering an option? I still do not know if I will be getting the $600 a week from the CARES act, but I think I will. As of now, I make $170 a week from unemployment from VA. While that is not enough to live off, with the $600 it would be. My concern is that if I work at the Taphouse (or Grill) at all or too much I would not get that $600-$770 a week, which would be a lot more than I would make working at Taphouse/Grill I imagine. I also want have a job to come back to when this is all over, so there is that. I miss everyone and I appreciate you taking the time to do this.

I’m willing to help if needed but I’m fine staying home too. Working one or two days a week would be fine with me. If you find a way to close and provide pay for staff that would be best case scenario, I think. However, if a portion is for me, I’d like to make sure it goes to our full time staff.

I am quitting a job I got at Costco because of the high risk. I want to do my part and be there so that we all have a job later, but I’m scared of bringing something home and Brandon works with super high risk people every day. I am still employed at the UVA Hospital, so I would rather the hours go to those who are unemployed right now than to me. My opinion on not working for now may change as more time goes by, but as of right now I would prefer to not just because I am still going to the hospital some and do not want to accidentally expose customers/I would like to be as socially distant as I can. I miss coming in for work though, so I hope this all blows over soon!!

I am comfortable with the amount I am making on unemployment because I feel like there is no way I can make that amount or more at this time under current circumstances. There are those of us that don’t qualify for unemployment and I would hope they are offered hours first. Like you, I just want things to be normal – the way they were before all this started. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. I can’t wait to get back to work – I miss everyone.

I do WANT to work, but I’m in a weird situation where I’m fighting with VEC for unemployment and feel like I need to wait until its figured out to make an actual determination. They denied my claim the first time around because I didnt have wages from 2018/early 2019 (You have to have them in two of the last five quarters not including the immediately recent one to qualify normally), so I’ve appealed that because there is supposed to be an ammended timespan that includes the last quarter, and they’ve scheduled a hearing. If accepted, it’s more financially and generally responsible for me to just do unemployment. If denied, then my answer about the hours question isn’t valid here and I wanna work whenever possible.

Vanessa Behr Timberwood Tap House 10 – 20 Less I recently found out that I am still employed in ACPschools so will not be claiming unemployment. I filed last week but called a local office to fix the situation as soon as I found out I was being paid through the county; we are currently playing phone tag so I don’t think the issue has been resolved. Yes Yes Yes I’d rather be working 4 2

Hey Adam,
To continue what I was saying – I didn’t realize until the day before yesterday that my recent hire as an autism based assistant with the county was still in effect (got lost in emails/voicemails with the craziness). So I had filed and qualified for unemployment thinking I was totally out of work. I called the Charlottesville office of the VA Employment Commission and left a voicemail explaining my situation. We played phone tag today to no avail so I don’t expect anything to be resolved until Monday – and then I have no idea what it takes to fix in the system. That being said I’d love to continue working a bit at the Taphouse. I don’t foresee my duties as an assistant being too great hourly wise but I really have no idea. I wouldn’t mind working 2 shifts possible 3 at all. However, and I really mean this, if there are people that need the money more and the Taphouse is their only source of income please give the shifts to them. If there is any other way I can help please let me know. I’m so terribly sorry you guys are having to go through this. I love you guys like family …. and that’s what it feels like … a trauma in the family. But please, seriously, and I told Lynne too, use me in whatever way you can. Love you guys!

I would like the ones that solely depend on this Grant to get the money before I do, even though it would help right now. I feel the ones who have worked there Full time and rely on this 100% to get any help before me. I am receiving unemployment, which currently is not nearly enough but should be with recent stimulus package. Long term, I would very much like to continue working for Timberwood. I do not want to interfere with unemployment, as I’m assuming full time work is not available, but I would be very willing to work part time and reduce benefits if there are shifts (initially taken off the schedule due to a fever, but Thursday will mark 14 days since having any fever). However, if shifts are in short supply or if there are others needing the work, I’ll be just fine. Thanks. Either way, wishing everyone the best!
